Y, de esta manera, corren el peligro de perder su permiso de trabajo», lamenta la letrada. «Ni pueden abrir una cuenta en el banco, ni tan siquiera ser persona. Y si los trámites se eternizan y expiran los papeles, les bloquean sus cuentas hasta que consiguen la tarjeta de residencia».«Hay bastante gente que me dice: Yo necesito trabajar ya mismo, no puedo aguardar 7 meses. El inconveniente es que se desesperen y dejen de luchar por la documentación o bien, directamente, se vayan del país», agrega Garrido, quien advierte de que los atajos para conseguir una cita pueden suponer otro perjuicio para los solicitantes. «Porque hay gente que paga el dinero y después se percata de que no le han concedido la que le correspondía, como le sucedió a Melo».Sin citas no hay derechosEl bloqueo burocrático ha llevado a la Asociación Apoyo y a la Coordinadora de Barrios a convocar este viernes una concentración ante las dependencias del Área de Trabajo e Inmigración de la calle Silva, 19, cuyo edificio alberga también la sede central de la Oficina de Extranjería. Bajo el lema Sin citas no hay derechos, los perjudicados denunciarán «el de la carencia de citas», según reza el comunicado, que critica el óbice para realizar los trámites de regularización administrativa reconocidos en la .«Es ya frecuente tardar más de cinco meses en conseguir una cita para solicitar la autorización de vivienda temporal por arraigo social, o bien la regularización de menores nacidos en España, o la reagrupación familiar… Y, sin esos documentos, las personas extranjeras no tienen los mismos derechos que las españolas. La falta persistente de citas en la Oficina de Extranjería de la villa de Madrid genera una violación silenciosa de derechos humanos», agrega la nota.Los convocantes esgrimen casos de que perdieron la oportunidad de regular su situación tras una una espera que se dilató demasiado tiempo, lo que provocó que caducase su documentación o bien que sus potenciales empleadores dejasen de demandar sus servicios. «Dificultar el acceso», agrega el comunicado", «es levantar una nuevafrontera invisible para estas vecinas y vecinos de nuestros barrios».Melo sigue esperando, mientras su paciencia se va consumiendo día a día. «Cuesta tan tanto fijar una cita que me da la sensación de que la Administración nos pone trabas a propósito», se lamenta, entre la esperanza y la resignación. «Seguiré insistiendo, mas ahora resulta imposible»
